\"candle-1144728_1920\"After the death of her husband Jeff Hall, a popular English football player, in 1959 as a result of polio, Dawn Clements made it her mission to educate members of her community in Birmingham, England about the dangers of the debilitating disease. Last month Clements passed away at the age of 79 after battling lung cancer and tributes were paid for her work as a polio campaigner and educator. Ted Hill, chief executive of the British Polio Fellowship<\/a><\/strong>, commended Clements for \u201cshining a light\u201d on polio adding, “What she did 50 years ago during the worst time of her life still matters to people. Dawn would want me to thank the fans of Birmingham City and all those for all of their help and support.\u201d<\/p>\n
